As a professional, I want to improve my smile. However, I don’t have a lot of time to invest in dental treatment. I also do not want to compromise my image in the process. What do you recommend?
Modern cosmetic dentistry is perfect for adult patients who want a fresher, more appealing smile. Dr. Proctor offers many procedures, like teeth whitening and veneers that do not require more than a visit or two. For more complex restorations or smile makeovers that require multiple appointments, we can schedule a phased plan and work within your schedule restraints. With oral sedation, multiple procedures can be performed in a single day while you stay completely comfortable. If you want to straighten your teeth, Invisalign orthodontics is a series of custom-made, clear aligners that won't compromise your professional image. Call today for your cosmetic consultation.

I hate to admit it, but all things dental make me anxious. I postpone dental care because the thought of it stresses me out. Can you help?
If you have had a bad dental experience, you don't respond well to numbing agents, or you just don't like dental care, you are not alone. About half of American adults do not go to the dentist because of dental anxiety. Dr. Proctor offers many options to help patients relax, gain peace of mind, and get the dental care they need. Learn more about our anesthesia and sedation options on our services page.

What is laser dentistry, and why does Dr. Proctor prefer it over traditional gum surgery?
Dr. Proctor uses PerioLase, a soft tissue laser that can remove unwanted gum tissue for periodontal disease therapy or cosmetic gum lifts. Traditional gum surgery requires tissue to be cut away with a scalpel, then the gums are sutured and packed to heal. Patients must endure a recovery period while the mouth tissues heal. With laser dentistry, the PerioLase removes gum tissue quickly and efficiently with little to no bleeding and no need for sutures. If any recovery time is required, it is minimal. Dr. Proctor has invested in the training and tools to bring laser dentistry to his patients because he believes that it is a minimally invasive, accurate, and more comfortable means for gum surgery.

Do root canals always work?
A root canal is a therapy, not a miracle cure. Although 96% of root canals are successful, in rare occasions a tooth will need to be retreated.

How long do dentures last?
Over time, the jawbone and gums shrink, because they’re no longer supporting tooth roots. When this occurs, dentures may become loose and require relining. We recommend having your dentures relined or replaced every 7 to 10 years. Wearing ill-fitting dentures can cause severe bone loss and very serious oral disease. Please call our office if it’s been over ten years since your last denture fitting.
